Based on two true stories: 1)  John found a shivering maid just moments after buying some portraits for his house, and vowed to give away all of his income beyond what he needed to live.  Tithing wasn’t a thing for him.  If you loved God, you gave back everything that you didn’t need to basically survive. 2) I bought a J. W. bobblehead doll last year for myself and my wife severely chastised me for frivolous squandering.
